For a couple of years my good friend Kellyn “The” Wolff gave me some of the most fun I’ve had on a birthday. On my 20th birthday, I found a piece of paper in my kitchen with a cryptic clue written on it. After a while, I realize I needed to hold a flame near the paper, which cause letters to magically appear. They formed another cryptic clue. Turns out, he’d come into the house while I was still asleep and set up a series of hidden clues, each clue leading to the next, with the eventual pay off of my gift: a phenomenal t-shirt hidden in a plastic bag in the mid-floor toilet tank. It was amazing.
The next year he topped himself for sure. I came home from work to find the mp3 I’m posting here on my desktop. You’ll note the backwards portion at the end. I reversed it to hear “properties” which lead me to check the mp3’s properties, which had a clue about “predator”. The search was on! I went upstairs and checked the case for the Predator DVD which my roommate had, and found the next clue. I don’t remember all the clues but a lot of them were on a new level. I know one clue was “In Your Honor” which ended up not being related to the Foo Fighers album of the same name. The clue ended up being written in a profile name in the video game Medal of Honor. Amazing.
Anyway, recently The Wolff stumbled across the original mp3 and sent it to me. It was just such a good time I had to share it.
